Volunteering at Growing Together Community Garden
Growing Together Community Garden is nearly 100% volunteer sustained. We offer many volunteer opportunities throughout the spring, summer, and fall months and welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. Volunteering in our garden is a wonderful way for students to earn required community service hours.
If you'd like to schedule a workday for members of your organization or partner with the garden for other service projects or educational activities, please email us at: communitygarden@crosspointe.org.
Tips for Volunteering in the Garden
When you volunteer in the garden, please:
* Restrooms are available onsite.
* Parking: The garden is located at the back of the campus, adjacent to the YMCA pool and playing fields. Parking is available in the pool parking lot as well as the rest of the campus.
- Bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen.
- Wear close-toed shoes and old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty.
- Be prepared for garden critters. There are many types of creatures that enjoy living in and visiting the garden. You may spot bugs, birds, and an occasional reptile or amphibian.
- We will have clean garden gloves available for volunteers, but please bring your own gloves if you prefer.
